My First Week in Spain!!

Hola mis amigos!!

It's been a while since I've been able to write, but here's the update! I'm alive and I'M IN SPAIN!! It's my first p-day since getting to Spain, and I already love it here so much! We had our last Sunday in the MTC, and my district did a musical number called "The Miracle" in sacrament meeting which had us all tearing up because it's a great song about Jesus Christ and you should all go listen to it 💛 Then we got all packed up on Monday and we had our last class together, and we shared our testimonies! I love each member of my district so much and I know God put each of us together for a reason to bless each other, and even though that made it really hard to say goodbye, I am SO grateful for my MTC experience and the teachers and district members that I love so dearly!

Then Tuesday morning came, and we left to start our travel day at... 3:30am! Honestly it was one of the longest days of my life, but we were blessed to be able to make it on all of our flights and arrive safely in Spain (on wednesday morning)! When we walked out of the airport, we met President and Sister Eastland and we were off! They kept us super busy all day to stay awake, and we got to tour around Madrid which was awesome! I had the best nights sleep after that super long day and it was awesome!
Wednesday morning we had some meetings, and then we met our trainers and we were off! My trainer is Hermana Hunsaker and she is awesome! We are in an area West of Madrid called Móstoles and it is so beautiful! We got straight to work with and I have already met so many wonderful people and grown to love them already! I can't always understand everything they say in their speedy Spanish, but I always smile and try to listen and show my love and they are all so kind!

Miracle:
I had my first Sunday here in Móstoles yesterday, and it was so awesome! One of our friends came with her adorable family and I was so happy! BUT, we were sitting in sacrament meeting and I heard the bishop announce my name and the other Elder's name who is new to the area and my heart dropped! But I knew that the Spirit would help me if I just went up there and testified of Jesus Christ! So, I did and I said it all in Spanish and I could just feel the Spirit as I testified and my love for these people! And my companion said it all made sense so I know that was the Spirit and not me!

Spiritual Thought:
Making this transition has definitely not been easy, but I have come to realize that even if I feel like there is so much to learn and I may feel a little overwhelmed, I can ALWAYS smile and share the light and joy of Jesus Christ with everyone I see because I am representing Him and Jesus Christ is JOY!
I came across this scripture that I want to share in Alma 27:18 which says,

"18 Now was not this exceeding joy? Behold, this is joy which none receiveth save it be the truly penitent and humble seeker of happiness."

I love this because even though there will always be hard things and challenges in our lives, if we humbly turn to Jesus Christ we can find true happiness and joy!! So I invite everyone to join me this week and be humble seekers of happiness! I know if we look for the good in life that comes from Jesus Christ, He will fill us with joy!

Thank you for all of your prayers and I would love to hear from all of you!
