All In God's Hands
Hola hola!!
This week was soo busy and it flew by which is kind of crazy! We started off by going to downtown Madrid for pday with our district and it was so busy and beautiful! Then we had interviews on Tuesday with President and Sister Eastland, and they are so awesome! We spent the rest of the week having some great lessons with friends and working to help them progress! We also did a lot of traveling this week on the buses and metros because we have some friends that live a little further out from Móstoles, and honestly we were blessed that all our travel worked out (for the most part). The buses are not super reliable here, but every time we really needed it to come it was there even if we had to have the faith to wait for a little while! Also on Friday we had a little picnic in a park for lunch which was so fun! (I didn't get any pictures though) Also quick update on the Spanish, sometimes it's hard to see that I'm improving, but I am learning to have patience in the process and little by little I am understanding more every day and continuing to share even when I know everything I'm saying isn't completely right! Also a little win from this week was I was able to do some calls all by myself which is so scary because sometimes they talk so fast over the phone, but I was able to do it and that was so exciting for me! I know I have a long way to go, but I am grateful for the little glimpses of improvement I see every day!
Miracle:
We made a goal this week to try and talk to at least 2 people when we're traveling to and from lessons. One day this week we were coming back from a long day and we were almost home, but we hadn't talked to anyone yet. So we decided to walk a loop around the park outside our apartment to try and talk to people before we went in, and we met two of the sweetest people ever! Their names are Maria and Julio and they've actually already met with missionaries before they moved to Móstoles! We got to share little message with them, get their number and we are planning on meeting with them this week! It was so cool to see how God uses our little efforts to be diligent, and puts people in our path who are ready in His timing!
Spiritual thought:
This week we had some really awesome highs and some disappointing lows. It is so exciting when our friends progress and take steps closer to Christ, but it is also soo hard to realize that they still have their agency and all we can do is continue love and invite them. I'm still learning how to trust in God and his timing for them, and one day when I was really struggling with this I decided to read my Book of Mormon, and I read this scripture that filled me with peace and hope!
Words of Mormon 1:7,
7 And I do this for a wise purpose; for thus it whispereth me, according to the workings of the Spirit of the Lord which is in me. And now, I do not know all things; but the Lord knoweth all things which are to come; wherefore, he worketh in me to do according to his will.
I know that God has a plan for each and every one of us, and as we do the spiritual work to have the Spirit with us, we will be directed on how we can continue to move forward the the actions we can control even in the face of disappointment and sorrow. God is in control of it all, and even though I don't know all things, I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who does and will guide and support us.
I love you all so much! Feel free to reach out, I love hearing from you!
