God leaves the door open!
Hola mis queridos amigos! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying fall!! We had an awesome week here! The time is really flying which is a little scary, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to be here and witnessing the hand of God blessing our work every day!
Highlights/ Fun facts:
- We had a lesson with our friends Emilia and Agusto this week who are so fun, and they took us to a café to eat croissants and we taught them the restoration! It was so amazing to feel the spirit as we taught the lesson even in a café and they loved it!
- We had 6 of our progressing friends come to church this week which was AMAZING because having people come to church has been a real struggle for us in the past! I was sitting on the stand to play the piano, and I started crying as I saw them all walk in! They are all such wonderful people, and it made me so happy to see them exercising their faith to come to church and feel the Spirit there 😊
Miracle: This week we had a good amount of time open on Saturday so we decided to go out to a pueblo that's a little farther away and try to visit a less active member who lives there. We weren't even sure if she would be interested or even home, but we felt like we should go so we started the journey there! We had a few wrong turns (took the metro the wrong direction) and we weren't sure if her address even existed, but we kept going and eventually we got to her apartment building. Here in Spain, you always have to ring the doorbell before you can get up to knock their door, BUT this time the door was left open and so we were able to get up to knock her door. And, she was home!!! She said that she had just gotten back from work, and we were able to get her new number, share a message, and give her a Book of Mormon! It was so cool to see how God was in the details of our day and made it possible for us to find her 😊
Spiritual Thought:
This week in church one of the speakers talked about the miracle of Peter walking on the water, and it really struck me! I love this part of the story he read,
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
He then said, Jesus must have been close to Peter to be able to reach out his hand and immediately lift him up! This really hit me because sometimes when we're living our lives trying to live with faith, it can feel like Christ isn't always with us or we can't feel Him by our side. But, HE IS! I know that our Savior lives, and He is always by our side as we continue to take steps of faith! He will always be there to cheer us on as we continue, and lift us up when we falter or fall! I love Him and I know He loves all of us 💛
I hope you all have an amazing week, and I would love to hear from you!
