Miracles come after our faith!!
Hola mis amigos!!!

Well I've officially finished my first transfer in the mission field, and it has been amazing!! There have definitely been some highs and lows, but I am so grateful every day for the opportunity to be here serving the Lord and to be able to love and serve the people here in Spain! Also, we found out plans for next transfer and I am staying here in Móstoles with my trainer Hermana Hunsaker! I am so excited to continue serving in this wondferful place and learning more every day!
Highlights/Fun facts:
- Whenever we greet anyone here we give two besitos (kisses) on both cheeks which is super sweet with all the Hermanas (sisters) we meet, but we aren't allowed to do besitos with any hermanos (brothers). Let's just say that has made for some funny interactions when we have to swerve them with a handshake 😂
- we have an opera singer who lives above us and sometimes we get little moments of being serenaded which is awesome!!
- Everyone stays out suuuuper late here with their whole families so even when we're going to bed at 11:30pm there are little kids running around in the park outside our piso (apartment) which is crazy but awesome!
- This week I got to play the piano for church, and the closing hymn was "Más cerca, Dios, de ti" (Nearer My God to Thee) and I had already been feeling the Spirit so much in our meeting because everyone's testimonies were so beautiful, so I started to cry when I was playing the hymn! I couldn't see the hymn book very well after that but thankfully I know the song pretty well so I made it through!
Miracle: We went to an apartment building this week to try and stop by one our less active member's apartments, but it turns out he had moved which was a bummer. But, we decided since we were already in the building we could knock some doors! Knocking doors can be pretty scary here because sometimes people aren't very nice, but we decided to just try because we felt like we should. After having 2 doors slammed in our face and 7 locks turned we were tempted to just leave, but we decided to try one more door and the lady who answered was so sweet! She was a johovah's witness so she wasn't super interested, but we were able to have an awesome conversation and share about eternal families and she even invited us in to see some of her paintings! God is soo good!!
Spiritual Thought: This week was honestly a pretty hard week for me. We had a ton of people cancel on us (one day we had every single one of our 5 lessons cancel) and it was just really disheartening to feel like even when we were doing our best, nobody wanted to listen to us and we just couldn't see success. BUT, after a few tears and a lot of prayers, we continued to work hard despite the disappointments and we have started to see the Lord blessing us with people that are ready to hear our message and most of all I have been filled with peace and joy that comes with the knowledge that as we put our trust in Him, all things will work together for our good and we will be able to be instruments in His hands to bring people to Christ! I read this scripture in my personal study yesterday and it sums up what I've been feeling lately 😊
Alma 17: 10-11,
10 And it came to pass that the Lord did visit them with his Spirit, and said unto them: Be comforted. And they were comforted.
11 And the Lord said unto them also: Go forth among the Lamanites, thy brethren, and establish my word; yet ye shall be patient in long-suffering and afflictions, that ye may show forth good examples unto them in me, and I will make an instrument of thee in my hands unto the salvation of many souls
I know that when we continually put our trust in God and turn to Him in prayer, HE WILL COMFORT US and bless us with miracles as we continue forward with faith!
I love you all sooo much, and thank you for your emails! I love hearing from you!
