Rain in Spain!
Hola hola mis amigos!!!
We had another amazing week here in Spain!! We ended up going up to Madrid a lot this week which was fun, and the work keeps moving forward 😊
- We had a mission conference with Elder and Sister McConkie from the seventy and they were awesome!! They gave us some amazing trainings on how to recognize spiritual promptings and have urgency in the work as missionaries! I love them!!
- I got to see all of my besties from the MTC Hermana Wright, Hermana Holbrook, and Hermana Finch! I love them!! (Shoutout to the rest of our MTC district! I miss you all 💛)
- On our way back from the conference it started POURING rain so we got absolutely drenched trying to get back to our apartment!! The streets were actually like rivers and some puddles were up to our shins and it was an adventure!!
- We had stake conference this week, so everyone got to go up to the stake center for church on Sunday and it's right next to the temple!! It was so beautiful and peaceful to be on the temple grounds, and the conference was awesome!
Miracle: We met a guy on a bench on Tuesday named Angel, and he was super interested in our message so we ended up teaching him a few parts of the lessons right there on the bench! We were super excited, and then we learned he lives outside of our area 😭 So, we sent an awesome reference to the Elders there, but they told us on Thursday that they hadn't been able to get in contact with him at all. We were super sad, BUT yesterday we were coming back from church (a different way because we were coming from the metro) and we saw him sitting on the same bench!! We were able to talk to him and find out he couldn't figure out how to respond to the Elders, but he really wanted to go to church! We helped him send them a message (and told the Elders) and met with them that afternoon!! I love him and I'm so excited to see him progress with the Elders there. 😁
Spiritual Thought: I was reading this week in Alma 2 about the Nephites who were about to be attacked by the overwhelming powerful Lamanites. They were extremely outnumbered, and it could have been easy for them to blame God or feel like He wasn't aware of them. Instead they prayed to Him fervently, believing He could strengthen them, and the Lord heard them and they were strengthened!!
Alma 2: 28,
"Nevertheless, the Nephites being strengthened of the Lord, having prayed mightily him that he would deliver them out of the hands of their enemies, therefore the Lord did hear their cries, and did strengthen them, and the Lamanites and the Amlicites did fall before them."
I know that God IS aware of us and He hears our faithful prayers! We may still have to face some daunting challenges and fight some fierce battles in our lives, but I know that we never have to fight alone because we always have a loving God who will strengthen us when we trust Him!! I have felt this on my mission so much that even when I feel weak or inadequate, as I turn to God in prayer, He ALWAYS strengthens me!! I invite you all this week to come to your Heavenly Father with the challenges you are facing, and I know He will hear and answer you 💛
I love you all so much!! Feel free to email me any time, I would love to hear how you are doing!!
Hermana Hardy 💛
