Highs and Lows
Hola mis queridos amigos!!
This week was honestly one of my hardest and one of my best weeks yet which sounds crazy I know but welcome to the life of a missionary!! We had some friends that I love sooo much take some tough steps back this week, and we had some of our friends make the best decision ever to be baptized so it's safe to say this week was nothing short of a rollercoaster š Through it all, I consistently felt the support of my Savior holding me up because I definitely needed Him š
Highlights/ Fun Facts:
- We went to our friend Ana's house this week and we were able to serve her a bunch which made me super happy! She also taught us how to make her arroz con leche which is soo good!!
- We went out to visit our friend Gael this week who has been taking the lessons for the last year, and we have been trying to help him feel prepared for baptism for a long time! This time I just looked him in the eyes and asked if he wanted to be baptized, and he said yes and picked a date!!!
- We went out to visit a member and her family who live in a pueblo (town) out in the country and it was so cute!! We had a great lesson with them and we ran to catch the only bus back and made it!
- We had a lesson with our friend Wilson this week and the spirit was soo strong! We finished the lesson, but we just had the strongest feeling to invite him to be baptized, so we did and now he's on date for december!!
- Elder Soares came to Spain this weekend and spoke to everyone this Sunday in a country-wide conference and it was amazing!! I feel so blessed to have living prophets and apostles that receive revelation for our day!
- We met with Consuelo, Antonio, Ildefenso, and Teresa this week and we had a very powerful lesson about baptism! They decided to push back their baptism date a little bit which was hard to hear, but they are on date for the beginning of December, so I am so excited for them to take that important step as a family š
Miracle:
We were walking to church yesterday, and we passed a man on the street. We smiled at him and kept walking, but he stopped us and asked for directions. After we helped him, we were about to keep walking, but he was looking at our tags and asked us what church we were from! We told him the name and that we were headed there right now if he wanted to come! He told us he had to go find this place to ask for work, but he asked to give us his number so we could talk later. We went to church, and halfway through, I saw this man walk in!! I went out and he said that he had realized that he gave us the wrong number and looked up the church on his GPS to come find us. He said, "the spirit led me here!" He ended up staying the rest of the time and we had a lesson with him after church! It was amazing!!
Spiritual Thought:
This week I have just been constantly reminded in my studies and prayers that God's love is unconditional and Jesus Christ's grace is available in every moment that we need Him (which is always)! I have been realizing this week what it means to truly humble yourself. For me it means that I truly can't do any of this alone, and I need to reach out to my Savior for help because I know He is there EVERY TIME I ask!! I invite you all to ponder how much you invite Jesus Christ to be involved in your life because I promise that He can help with any struggle you are going through and His grace is for YOU!
I love you all so dearly! Please keep reaching out! I love hearing from you š
