Last One Standing!
Holaaaa mis queridos amigos!!
I hope you all had a wonderful week! This week absolutely zoomed by and as you might have guessed from the title, we got transfer news this Saturday!! I am staying here in Pamplona and I will be getting my new companion Hermana Chase on Wednesday!! Sadly my dear comp Hermana Amado is leaving and they white washed the Elders out of the Pamplona 2 ward so I'm now the last one standing in that ward 😢 Also since we only received 3 new hermanas in our mission, president wasn't able to send Pamplona any more hermanas so we will be working in the 2 areas for another transfer! I'm a little nervous and excited for this transfer but one thing I know for sure is that we will be busy which is always great and the Lord will provide miracles as we trust in Him!!
Highlights/ Fun facts:
- For pday last week, my comp and I went to this cathedral here in Pamplona with a huge museum under it that was actually so cool! Sometimes I forget how old things are here in Europe, and it never ceases to amaze me! Let's just say that cathedral is SUPER old!
- We met with Ana 2 times this week and she is sooo amazing!! We taught her about the Restoration and she has such an amazing desire to learn and believe! She had some great questions, and it has been so cool to see her belief and understanding grow! We also had one of my favorite members named Laura in the lesson and her testimony was exactly what Ana needed to hear even though Laura hadn't even been there at the beginning to hear why! It was amazing!! Also Ana came to church again this Sunday with our recent convert Adalisa!
- I gave a talk in church on Sunday and I decided I was just going to write notes and not write out every word which was kind of scary but I think it went pretty well!!
- We were able to meet with the woman named Maria de Rosario that I met on the bus the other week and she is soo amazing!! She has such a desire to learn and she came to church on Sunday as well and loved it!!
- We had a challenge in our district to teach at least on unplanned lesson every day this week which is kind of hard because we are usually pretty booked with lessons. However, on friday we were walking to a lesson and we were a little bit late, but I saw this woman sitting on a bench and I felt like we needed to talk to her so I just went back to say hi. Her name is Liliana and we were able to have a really sweet lesson with her about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon and get her number to meet next week! It was so cool to see how the Lord provides as we follow the promptings He gives us!
- ALEJANDRO GOT BAPTIZED 🌊🔥!! He had his baptism this Sunday and he was so nervous and excited!! A bunch of the ward ended up coming, and Hermana Amado and I were able to sing during the service because he asked us to 😊 Fernando was also able to baptize him even though the water was a bit low, and in our lesson with him he said his family will take care of Alejandro and take him to the temple! So cool! Alejandro was sooo happy afterwards and gave the most beautiful testimony! He also brought his brother and some friends which was so cool to see and the members were chatting with them afterwards which was so great! I am truly amazed by Alejandro and how he deeply appreciates and understands the gospel, and I am so grateful I have had the opportunity to be a part of his journey and watch him grow and change because of Jesus Christ 💛
Miracle:
On wednesday we met our friend Saray who had sent in a referal and she is sooo cute! We met up in the centro and she took us to a yummy empenada restaurant! While we were there, there was a woman who was trying to order but she only spoke English. We ended up helping her order and then she starting asking us questions about who we were and what we do as missionaries! She is from the Netherlands and she was soo cute!! Also her American boyfriend came to pick her up and we got to chat to them both about the church and missionary work! (We also saw them "randomly" when we were going into our apartment so we know God is so aware of them and a seed has been planted 😊) After that we were able to teach Saray and go to visit her Mom's pizza restaurant to say hi as well! She is so faithful and we made a connection instantly which is always so special when we immediately feel like we can trust each other! I LOVE HER 😍
Spiritual Thought:
In my talk, I talked about our ability to bind ourselves to the Savior through living His gospel (faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end) and I know that to be true!! If we strive to live the principles of his gospel, we will be able to form bonds with our Savior that will keep us close to Him forever!
If you have never studied His gospel or if it has been a while, I invite you study His doctrine and look for ways you can apply it in your life because I promise you it will change your life for the better and bring you closer to your Savior 😍
I love you all so much! Feel free to reach out any time!
Hermana Hardy 💛
