Broken instrument, Perfect Musician

Hola mis queridos amigos!!

This week has definitely been unlike any week I've had so far on my mission and even though there were some ups and downs, we still saw sooo many miracles and I have just been consistently reminded that this is truly God's work and we are just His instruments!! Even when we might feel like we're a little broken or out of tune, I know as we turn to Him and include Him in our efforts, He can use us to bless so many people šŸ«¶

Highlights / Fun facts:

- Hermana Chase was super sick at the beginning of the week, so Tuesday consisted of a couple videocall lessons, a lot of calls and Facebook work inside the apartment for me which was kind of hard, but we had a great lesson with our friend Ana and the Gilberts brought us yummy soup which was so sweet! I love them šŸ’—
- On Wednesday we were able to go out and have a lesson with Rossy who sent us a referral and she was interested in the Book of Mormon! We had a great conversation and she has already started reading!!
- On Wednesday we went to visit Saray and we had a great lesson about the Plan of Salvation!! She also made us some yummy dinner and panela for our throats!! The spirit was so strong in our lesson and she shared some struggles that she has been going through, but she is so grateful for our lessons because she said they're always answers to her prayers! She's amazing ❤️
- On thursday we had some lessons cancel and we were doing some finding because we still had a lot to go on our goals! We were doing calls and I called a woman named Graciela who had previously been taught and she was interested in meeting again! We had a great conversation and planned to meet the next day! Also before we left the house, I just felt this fire to find and I felt prompted to bring out 2 Book of Mormons because there was someone we needed to give one to! We were walking to the bus after not really finding anyone and we passed a woman that I felt like we should talk to! Her name is Monica and she turned out to be super interested in the Book of Mormon! We were able to teach her, give her one, and plan to meet again! It was such a reminder to me that truly is preparing people!
- We met with Rita on Sunday and had an awesome lesson about the gospel of Jesus Christ! (My first time teaching it in English and it was a bit hard šŸ˜…) She told us that she had been thinking and praying about baptism which we had talked about last time, and she told us shes decided she wants to be baptized! We were so excited for her and we were able to pick a date for April 19th!! She is amazing and we felt the spirit so strong and so much JOY during the lesson!!
- We also met with our friend Diego today, and as we were teaching about the gospel and baptism specifically, I just felt so strongly that we needed to invite him to be baptized! The spirit was so strong as we explained about the covenant he would be making and he accepted the invitation!! We picked the date May 4th and he is so excited!! It was such a miracle and God truly is moving His work forward here in Pamplona šŸ˜„

Miracle:

On Saturday we had a lesson cancel in the morning so we decided to try and visit less active members who lived around the church. The first person we tried told us from the doorbell that she knew who we were and she had no interest at all in listening to us which was kind of sad. We still had a little time so I just chose another name that lived close and rang the door bell. A woman let us in and it turns out a sweet lady named Jennifer lives there who moved here not to long ago from Columbia and hasn't been to church hardly at all since moving. She said she normally works every weekend and this is the only Saturday she's had off in a long time! Any other time she wouldn't have been there but the one Saturday she was home was the day we stopped by to visit!! We were able to testify that God truly knows her and He sent us to tell her He loves her!! The spirit was so sweet and it was just a testament that God truly knows His children and puts us in places to bless them ☺️

Spiritual Thought:

This week I have been studying and pondering a lot about my covenants. I have just felt so grateful for the opportunity I have had to make covenants with God that bind me to Him and provide so much power and protection!! I loved this quote from President Nelson and I wanted to share,
"Once you and I have made a covenant with God, our relationship with Him becomes much closer than before our covenant. Now we are bound together. Because of our covenant with God, He will never tire in His efforts to help us, and we will never exhaust His merciful patience with us. Each of us has a special place in God’s heart.”

I am so grateful for the covenants I have made that allow me to have this sacred relationship with Him and the opportunity I have now to help more of His children do the same ☺️

I invite you all to take some time to ponder the covenants you have made with God or desire to make with Him and the power, peace, and JOY they can bring into your lives by being bound to our merciful and loving God ❤️

I love you all so much! Please feel free to reach out! I would love to hear from you šŸ™
