Just Keep Walking!
This week was our first full week in Logroño and it was amazing!! We worked so hard and saw a bunch of miracles! It was also insanely hot this week and we had a quite a few super long walks when the bus didn't come (hence the title of the email) but we are drinking lots of water and building character
Being a missionary is the best!!
Being a missionary is the best!!Highlights:
-On Tuesday we got to go visit our Bishop's family and they are the cutest!! He and His wife are both from Spain and have 2 little children that are adorable!! They also both speak English so they were super sweet with my companion which I appreciated so much!
- On Wednesday we taught our friends Fai and Tomas about the first half of the restoration of our church and they loved it! Then as we taught them the second half on Saturday it was amazing!! Tomas understood everything so well and explaining the next steps before we even got there! When explaining the priesthood, Tomas goes "so it's like the key right? You can't open the door without the key and the priesthood is the key that we needed." I sat there with my mouth open and said, "Yeah exactly!" They both also came to church and it was awesome!
- A member from Portugal who just moved here with his wife and daughter invited us over to chat with his wife because she only speaks English and they are so cute! Their daughter only speaks Portuguese and it made me want to learn so bad to be able to talk to her!
- On a Friday we went to visit a member and we miraculously catch the bus and make it to the address just on time, just to find out that they had moved and we had to walk 15 minutes to get to their new house. We were a bit discourage but we started walking and we ran into a friend who we haven't been able to meet in person yet and talk to her! It was so awesome to see how God puts us in the places we need to be!
- We met with our friend Nelly on Friday and it was awesome!! She is so faithful and as we were teaching her about the gospel, we felt inspired to invite her to be baptized and she accepted!! She is now on date for October and she is so excited! Please pray for her that everything goes well
- On Saturday we visited our friend Carola and we felt like we should teach her about the first half of the Plan of Salvation. As we are teaching her about where we come from and why we're here, she starts to look a bit emotional and she says, "Hermanas, just this week I have been asking myself these questions and I can't find and answer and then God sends me you with the exact answer!!" It was so cool to see how the Spirit was guiding us in every step and the spirit was so strong in the lesson!!
Miracle:
On Friday we were waiting at a bus stop for a bus (that never ended up coming) and a lady came up to us asking for help raising the volume on her phone. We helped her and started talking and she is soo sweet! Her name is Olga and she's from Cuba but has lived in Spain for a long time! We were able to teach her and set up a lesson for the next day! Then she came to church on Sunday and loved it!! She made friends with some members and now we're going to visit them with her this week! She's amazing!!
Spiritual Thought:
Today I want to testify of the power of faith! I know that when we have faith in Jesus Christ, He walks with us and provides so many miracles!
"Behold, the kingdom is yours. And behold, and lo, I am with the faithful always. Even so. Amen."
D&C 62: 9
I love you all so much!! Please feel free to reach out any time!
