Faith over Fear!

Hola mis queridos amigos!

We had another great week here in Logroño with some ups and downs but we keep moving forward! Even though we had quite a few lessons fall through this week and some rough rejections, it made me so much more grateful for the people God has given us who are willing and open to learning more! I always need to remind myself that this is His work and I know He has great plans for us here in Logroño

Highlights:

- On Monday night both of our lessons had fallen through so we were just sitting at the park doing some Facebook work when I felt like I should look up, and I said, "Is that Olga??" We got up and ran over to our friend that we hadn't been able to get in contact with and set up a lesson that week! She said, "God put you 2 in my path tonight"

- On Tuesday we headed down to Madrid for Zone Conference which was awesome!! I loved getting to see all my friends, and we had Elder Gerard from the Seventy and his wife come to visit us which was awesome! I also got to play the piano and translate for the first time! It was a bit hard translating from English to Spanish but so rewarding!

- On Friday we met with our friend Nelly and it was such a good lesson! We were talking about how she feels preparing for her baptism and she said that sometimes she feels unsure or nervous, but then she hears this voice telling her to keep going and that she'll never get to start a new life with Christ if she doesn't take the step! I told her, "Nelly that's the Spirit!" Her face lit up and she was so excited that the Spirit was speaking to her and helping her keep going!

- On Saturday we drove out to a pueblo called Calahorra to eat lunch with our recent convert and her family! Her name is Karla Jessenia and she lives with her twin Karla Patricia and they are both married to brothers! Their house was so full and lively and we ate a delicious meal and felt the spirit with them which was awesome!

- At church on Sunday we were sitting in the chapel and this awesome member named Andrea told us to come meet her friend Leonardo! She had invited him because she was giving a talk in Sacrament meeting and we got his number so we're planning on meeting this week!

- On Sunday night we had interviews with President and Hermana Grow and I absolutely love them! They are so spirit led and I am grateful for the guidance and love they give me

Miracle:

On Thursday we were sitting in the park waiting for our friend to show up to our lesson when we heard a voice say, "hermanas??" We looked up and saw a couple that we didn't recognize coming towards us! It turns out the husband is named Jorge and he is a member who joined the church back in Ecuador but has been inactive since coming here to Spain and his wife Karla had been taught by missionaries years ago by hermanas but had never got to the point of baptism! We were able to have a great conversation with them, and they came with their 2 sons all dressed up to church on Sunday! Now we are planning on visiting them this week and we're so excited!

Spiritual Thought:

During Zone conference Sister Gerard talked about the power of faith over fear. It really struck me because I think that is something I have come to realize on my mission. It can be easy to give in to feelings of fear of the unknown, or being rejected, or failure, but I know that as I focus on my faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, He strengthens me! I invite you all to think about the fears that might hold you back in life, and ponder on how you can allow your faith in Christ help you overcome those fears and become more than you ever thought you could be!
