Being a missionary = JOY

Image
Hola mis amigos!!  We had another great week here in Logroño filled with miracles and awesome friends! I am consistently amazed by people's desire to follow God and put Him first! We had lots of visits with members, recent converts, and lessons with friends which makes for a great week! It's also so fun training and seeing my companion grow and experience things for the first time! Highlights: - This week we met with our friend Esper by videocall and we invited the cutest member Margarita to join us. They ended up hitting it off in the call and afterwards Margarita told us that Esper asked her to come to our next lesson that week and she told us she would come whenever and wherever it was! So on Friday morning when we met with Esper again, Margarita made the 40 minute bus ride to meet us in a park and join us in the lesson! Her testimony was perfect and exactly what Esper needed and we were so grateful! - We met with a woman named Gladys in a park this week who I thought was an...

Hola mis queridos amigos!! This week was our first full week in Logroño and it was amazing!! We worked so hard and saw a bunch of miracles! It was also insanely hot this week and we had a quite a few super long walks when the bus didn't come (hence the title of the email) but we are drinking lots of water and building character   Being a missionary is the best!! Highlights: -On Tuesday we got to go visit our Bishop's family and they are the cutest!! He and His wife are both from Spain and have 2 little children that are adorable!! They also both speak English so they were super sweet with my companion which I appreciated so much!  - On Wednesday we taught our friends Fai and Tomas about the first half of the restoration of our church and they loved it! Then as we taught them the second half on Saturday it was amazing!! Tomas understood everything so well and explaining the next steps before we even got there! When explaining the priesthood, Tomas goes "so it's like the...

New Girls in Town!

Hola mis queridos amigos!  This past week has been an absolute whirlwind but it has been amazing!! On Wednesday after the Temple we headed to the office and I got the keys for my new piso and I started trying to call some of our friends to get things ready for when me and my new companion arrived. Then on Thursday, I met my new companion Hermana Telford!! She is from Idaho and came straight from the MTC and she is soo cute! We had a few meetings on Thursday and then we somehow managed to get all our bags on the train and headed out to our new area! Logroño is absolutely adorable and I love it already! Highlights: - On the train, there was a lady sitting next to us and the whole ride I had the feeling I should talk to her but I kept waiting and eventually I decided I was going to compliment her outfit! She ended up being super nice and spoke English!! Her name is Lola and she's from a town outside of Logroño and we were able to have the coolest conversation about what we do as missi...

Hola mis queridos amigos!  My companion and I switched our pday this week to Wednesday so that we could go to the temple so that's why I'm writing today and I am sooo excited! It has been so long since I have been to the temple and I cannot wait!  We also got transfer news this week and... I'm training!!! Me and my new companion are going to white wash (neither of us have been there before) into an area called Logroño in the North and I'm so excited! It's going to be a challenge and I'm definitely so sad to be leaving Torrejón after I just got here, but I am so excited to have a new experience and grow so much for my last few transfers  Highlights: -   Vicky got baptized!!! Our bestie Vicky who we've been teaching the whole transfer got baptized this Saturday and it was such a beautiful service (my wonderful comp even agreed to sing with me)! I am just so proud of her and all of the decisions she has made to make it to this point! I'm sad to be leaving h...
